You can receive faxes on your Smart Number or Smart Fax if you subscribed to this option. A Smart Number can handle telephone calls, SMS and faxes, while the Smart Fax is dedicated to receiving faxes only.
People can send you faxes simply by dialing your Smart Number or Smart Fax number from a fax machine as they normally would. Your Evatel service automatically detects the type of incoming call (voice, SMS or fax) and handles it accordingly. Your received faxes will be sent to you as emails with the fax document attached in PDF format. You can also get a paper copy of your fax document on a fax machine connected to an ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) registered on an IP phone extension.
Your faxes can be managed at several locations:
- On the Web Portal: The Web Portal provides access to the faxes that you already received by email. It allows you to view and manage them on the Web Portal independently of your Inbox. The number of messages is indicated between parenthesis under the Faxes icon on the Home page. Click the Faxes icon on the Home page of your Web Portal to open the Faxes page where you can:
- Read faxes.
- Delete faxes.
- Download faxes to your computer.
- Forward a fax to a contact, a colleague or any other recipient.
- Update / refresh the list of faxes.
- On the Mobile App: The Mobile App provides access to the faxes that you already received by email. It allows you to view and manage them on the Mobile App. The number of messages is indicated in the red circle on the Faxes icon on the Home page. Tap the Faxes icon to open the Faxes page on your Mobile App where you can:

- By phone using speech or touchtone commands: Using touchtone or voice commands, you can access your fax messages list, archive, delete or forward them to your contacts and colleagues. See Speech Commands to Access Your Faxes by Phone for details.
