You can manually enter two variations of phonetic pronunciations for each user in each language used by your company. The Virtual Receptionist service will use the phonetic names you specified instead of those. You do not need to specify phonetic pronunciation for all users. Make it only for the names that need it (names with difficult pronunciation for people). The Virtual Receptionist service will always use automatically generated phonetic pronunciations for names that have not had custom phonetic pronunciations.
You can specify the phonetic pronunciations of any user as follows:
- Click on Voice Directory to see the list of existing groups.
- To display the list of users, open the All group by clicking on its + sign.
- The list of users is displayed showing the following columns:
- Ext: the extension number (extension) of the user. Click to change the content.
- User: The name of the user as registered.
- Phonetic-1 (English): The first phonetic pronunciation of the name in the first language (English in this example). By default, the name of the user is used.
- Phonetic-2 (English): The second phonetic pronunciation of the noun in the first language (English in this example). By default, the name of the user is used. .
- Phonetic-1 (French): The first phonetic pronunciation of the noun in the second language (French in this example). By default, the name of the user is used.
- Phonetic-2 (French): The second phonetic pronunciation of the noun in the second language (French in this example). By default, the name of the user is used.
- Click on any phonetic pronunciation field to edit it or to add a new pronunciation of the user's name.
